A Turn in the Road. Author: Debbie Macomber

This is another book in the "Blossom Street" series which I really enjoy. This particular one was slow moving and centered on just one of the "regular" characters and a trip she takes with her daughter and ex-mother-in-law across the U.S. I found the book disappointing but stuck with it and I did like the ending.

The Throne of Fire. Author: Rick Riordan

The second book in a series involving the Kane siblings who are direct descendants of Egyptian gods. Fun and fast-paced, this book follows Sadie and Carter for another magical adventure. I enjoyed it immensely and it reminded me of the Harry Potter magic.
