This is the story of a man called "the Professor" who runs a Coney Island freak show of which his daughter Coralie is part of. She grows up feeling unloved by her father and meets a young man, Eddie, who is a photographer and has become estranged from his father, also feeling unloved by his father. Although the book is fiction, she ties in many true, actual events which makes the book more interesting. The book also involves a mystery which Eddie and Coralie become involved in solving. There is also romance involved.
