The main character is Leah. Her sister ran off with her fiancé. Her mom dies while giving birth so Leah takes care of the baby and older eighteen-month girl as she promised her mother on her deathbed. Leah is engaged but her new fiancé doesn't want the responsibility of two children and Leah running her father's house. Her sister returns home a widow. Things are not what they seem and a surprise ending is in store. Great book.
