A confusing story of Thomas Chatterton, an 18th century poet who may or may not have committed suicide. Charles Wychwood, in present day, becomes obsessed with Chatterton. We are led on a winding story with many characters who quickly become annoying with their eccentricities. After a while you just don's care about Chatterton or any other characters and can't wait for the story to end.
