I received such an interesting trip through history and so much more from this book. I never really gave much thought to the Japanese population living in America during World War II, especially on the west coast like Hawaii, California and Washington. The agony these people went through was no different than all the Americans during that time. The story is told by the son of Chinese immigrants and the problem when he falls in love with a Japanese girl. Who knew these cultures were at odds with each other?!?!
Phenomenal job exploring the history and attitudes at this time.
