Basically it is a romantic story between a caretaker and patient. The patient Will became a quadriplegic after a motorcycle accident. Louisa is hired by Will's mother as a caregiver. Will has decided that after two years of living in a wheelchair he wants to end his life with an assisted suicide in six months. Will's mother hopes that Louisa can change his mind.
Jojo Moyes made an attempt to give multiple opinions of assisted suicide with her characters. I did not find myself invested in the characters and found the plot very predictable. I would even think people with disabilities might find the book offensive.
