A younger teenage girl Bella meets a "boy" named Edward Cullen. He's not really a boy though, he's actually hundreds of years old. They end up falling in love with each other despite the whispering and dirty looks from all the peers and family of both lovers. Bella is also introduced to an old family acquaintance's son named Jacob who is also inhuman. Edward in reality is a vampire while Jacob, his competition for Bella's heart, is a werewolf. Bella and Edward officially are a couple with her now being the only human that knows his lifelong secret. The big question now is how to keep her safe now that she knows.
